The town of Shadow Creek is the heart of the Western Farm in Boden. A unique, authentic environment where actors make the myths and stories of the Wild West come to life. People come here to enjoy a different kind of experience, something powerful, on the crossroads between fantasy, playfulness and reality.
Maybe you will be challenged to a duel by one of the city’s villains, or maybe you will compete against the prairie pioneers in an axe throwing contest.
The city is run by the calm sheriff Charles. Here, visitors will meet Scarface the bandit, José the Mexican and school teacher Miss Nelly. The actors never leave character and always interact with visitors. That way, Shadow Creek becomes a place where you never really know what awaits. Maybe you will be challenged to a duel by one of the city’s villains, or maybe you will compete against the prairie pioneers in an axe throwing contest.
Suddenly, the bank is robbed! All the visiting children are named deputy sheriffs and the hunt for Scarface begins. Now it’s all about catching the bad guys and putting them in jail, but that’s easier said than done. The adventure winds its way through the streets of Shadow Creek where danger lurks around every corner. In between shootouts you will meet the Indian, Crazy Horse and soon Scarface will be closer than you think…
“For us it’s about doing something more…giving something more. The children love the fact that there’s something going on around them all the time. They’re not just spectators, they become part of the adventure, part of the show. They’re completely captivated, they are transported to a different time and place creating strong and lasting memories. They come back a year later and can tell you all the details of last summer’s adventure and also how they are planning to be even smarter sheriffs when the bank robbers need to be caught again. Nothing beats this realistic experience”, says Joel Andersson, one of the owners.
There is so much more than just shows, brawls, bank robberies and duels though. Here you will find restaurants, a blacksmith, shops with everything a little sheriff might need and a studio where the entire family can take pictures dressed in clothes typical of the era. You can also choose to stay at the Western Farm Village in the middle of the facility, comfortable accommodation in true Western style, to enhance the experience of being in another time and another place.
