Boden offers a wide selection of restaurants and cafés. In summer, cozy summer cafés pop up, often in the countryside. These are popular to visit for the whole family.
In the restaurants, you will find everything from locally produced food to food from all corners of the world. The beverage can come from a local brewery or one of the world’s largest producers. The café culture in Boden is strong and it is from the time when Boden became a city in the early 20th century. People came here from all over Sweden to work in the military or in the structure that built up this modern small town in the north. The cafés quickly became popular meeting places where you had a coffee, or a “Swedish fika”, before a matinee at the cinema or card games with friends. The summer cafés, which you usually find in the villages around Boden, are often well visited. Here, you can often choose whether you want to sit indoors in a cozy environment or outside in a lush garden. Keep an eye out, from time to time cafés and restaurants invite you to nice events.
